Northern Health has informed the Chamber that they are not allowed to do any public campaigning or any kind until all contracts are signed for the new hospital construction.
The Chamber of Commerce and Northern Health apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused.
That's the message from Guest Speaker Kari Yuers, President and CEO of Kyrton International.
Ms. Yuers, an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award winner, says innovative thinking and keeping ahead of changes in the marketplace are among the strategies that have helped her company grow through good times and bad. Kryton produces a line of concrete waterproofing products, and has grown from a small enterprise with less than 10 employees to a large organization with international sales.
Ms. Yuers will be the keynote speaker at a business forum on navigating through difficult times on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009. The one day forum will focus on providing business owners and managers with practical advice and information to help them steer their companies through the current economic downturn.

Denny and Jay have emerged as a pair of the stars of international speed skating. The brothers are cheered on by their parents Dennis and Carol, and supporters from the Peace Country and 18, 000 or so in Fort St. John.
Going back to the '60s, the undersized burg has produced a steady stream of provincial and national champions and an Olympian in Linda Johnson, who competed in Lillehammerin '94 and Nagano in '98. The dreaded outdoor oval was also in use up until 2006, and it will give way to an indoor oval ( in our newly constructed Enerplex) --one of three in Canada -- which is scheduled to be completed this August.
This was the incubator which produced the Morrison brothers, who were actually born in nearby Chetwynd before the family, with sister Julie, moved to the big city. The plan, originally, was to introduce both boys to skating in preparation for hockey.
