Grande Prairie woman killed while crossing street

A pedestrian was struck and killed while crossing a street near the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Grande Prairie on Thursday.
The Grande Prairie RCMP say it appears the 51 year-old woman, from the Grande Prairie area, was walking across the intersection of 98th Street and 105th Avenue at just after 1 p.m. when she was hit by a van.
Police believe the 56 year-old male driver of the van was attempting a left-turn onto 98th street when he hit the woman.
The police investigation continues, and there’s no word yet of any charges pending.
