Man sentenced after Grande Prairie pursuit

A 28 year-old Edmonton man has been sentenced to two years in jail after pleading guilty to five criminal charges after fleeing police in Grande Prairie last month.

Kenneth Zukowski had been charged with evading police, dangerous driving, failing to stop, and two counts of possession of stolen property after he tried to escape police on Aug. 22.

Grande Prairie RCMP had attempted to stop a 2003 Subaru for a traffic infraction but the driver refused to stop.

The next day, Zukowski was spotted and police attempted to stop him.

He again refused to stop and was pursued over several streets, eventually hitting a concrete median.

He then attempted to flee on foot but was eventually caught and arrested without further incident.
