PJXM Hits 20 Announces some changes are coming Sept 1

Thats right, PJXM Hits 20 will be making some tweaks in our broadcasting....

As of September 1st, Hits 20 will be moving to Hits 40! Program Director Shane Chevalier has been working on these major changes and has says "well since PJXM made its debut in the radio market last June, we have seen a significant jump in listeners around the world and right here in Fort St. John, its time to up tunes and go with a Hits 40 flow, get rid of the old and in with the new"

These changes are going to impact what you all listen to on the station on a daily basis! PJXM's Massive will be taken off the air to make time for the Hits 40; morning/afternoon shows will also be replaced with a new branded show, that will be annoucned at a later date as PJXM is still finalizing how much space and time Hits 40 will actually take on the Live365.com streaming server.

PJXM will be off the air on Aug 31 for some serious maintenance to the streaming server, we do apologize for this but we will back Tuesday Sept 1!!

Hits 20 PJXM will be doing a 5pm newscast that will broadcast on our new 5pm show starting July 23, 2009!

Its new and with anything that is new comes with bugs/mistakes and we do apologize but once we get used to doing news stories the mistakes will gradually go away.

Also, we have launched a new website for our station it can now be found at www.pjxmn.com and click the link to visit our new site. This site is still being worked on and features will be added as we go along.

PJXM is also looking to do some FREE advertising for business in and around Fort St. John. The ads will be created by Shane Chevalier without music(explain why in a few), so if your interested in this please email PJXM at shanechevalier@pjxmn.com Spam emails will be deleted. Your ads will be played on PJXM's broadcasting shows throughout the day. Now for the reason why there is no music; its because right now music ads take alot of time to make and because we aren't charging for this service music is a nil option. PJXM is releasing a taste of the Punk, Alternative, and Metal programming show called "Massive" starting from 8-10pm tonight! We decided to release it early to see how many ppl actually vote for these songs, and of course all feedback is appreciated for songs you would like PJXM's "Massive" show to play each night begininng in the middle of July.

To vote for the songs, you must listen to PJXM Hits 20 from 8pm-10pm all this week. The trial ends next week, songs that didnt make a high vote will be cut and replaced with something else.

PJXM is proud to announce a few changes to our broadcasting... We still remain a Top 20 station with all the greatest hits but we have dropped our streaming quality from 80kbps to 64kbps, the reason being is the amount of space all our uploaded music takes up, the less the quality the more storage we have for new music. Really listeners wont even notice a big difference if your just a normal listener, but if your a VIP member of Live365.com you will notice a difference and we do apologize for this.

PJXM is now called PJXM Hits 20, Fort St Johns Top 20 Destination, and we have also scrapped the live pre-recorded Top 20 due to alot of complaints from listeners who didnt know what they were listening to, so starting Thursday April 9, 2009 Hits 20 is back to its original broadcasting form. We also have scrapped the live show between 7-9pm, this show will now only happen once per week instead of 5 days a week, normal programming will take over the live show.

We are having some difficulties with our main website, it seems the server will no longer accept incoming connections so until further notice our site has been disabled.

PJXM Top 20 Broadcasting Change

Starting Thursday March 19, 2009 PJXM's Top 20 broadcast will now be pre-recorded with DJ Shaneo. This save us some valuable space on our server and time consuming file streaming off the server as well. We have recently upgraded our server for faster access for pre-recorded streaming, this doesnt effect how you will listen to the station but it makes things easier on our computers for finding 1000s of songs way faster by indexing the server. I know makes no sense to you, but we do appreciate all of our listeners in the Fort St John area!!

Top 20 broadcasting will be 1 hour and 25 mins long and will have no commercials if you are a non-vip listener, the only downfall is, you will no longer see who is singing the current song, but DJ Shaneo does assist with this by saying the title of each song at the beginning and end.

PJXM is increasing its sound quality!!

PJXM Online radio is increasing its Live Broadcasting sound quality from 80kbps to 128kbps, this is ONLY going to effect the live shows on PJXM not regular programming throughout the day. With the increased sound quality does come with its issue's, please read them below...

1) 128kbps requires a really fast internet connection to avoid drop outs

2) Make sure if you are using an aircard that you have an unlimited data plan for it, you dont want to go over your monthly usage.

This is just a test for the next few live shows, if PJXM gets alot of emails complaining about drop outs we will switch back to 80kbps.

PJXM Online Radio Shutting Down Jan 1, 2009

We regret to inform everyone of this news, PJXM Online Radio will be turned off as of Jan 1, 2009. Over the last few months we have had nothing but bad news in the market conditions and the lower Canadian Dollar has but all to do with the shutdown of the station.

We have many many listeners around the world, and we are sorry to do this to everyone, but in order to save money, scrapping programming was one issue, but that however didnt bring PJXM out of the red enough to continue on, we actually lost money in the 3rd quarter and the 4th quarter is lookin no better. We do thank you all for enjoying PJXM.

PJXM Online Radio Cuts

Due to the lacking Canadian Dollar, PJXM will be cutting back some of its programming to break even for the year fiscal wise. As of Oct 28, 2008 some programs will be cut and others will be lessend. PJXM regrets any troubles this may cause in any listening programs you may enjoy in our online radio community.

If the Canadian Dollar drops even further below .70 cents US, PJXM will be scrapped as of January 1, 2009. The prices we pay to operate PJXM are in US dollars and of course with the US having a huge advantage over the Canadian Dollar it makes it only easier for us to scrap the entire programming schedule all together.

PJXM would like to clairify how to send proper emails to us for any requests or for us to check out artists locally.

All emails MUST include a subject title, your name and contact information in order for us to respond back to you. If none of this is done correctly, your email will deleted without us even looking at it. We have had a lot of spam messages for fake items to be played on our radio station creating huge problems on our server.

Don't be one of the un-lucky ones who gets a rude email back from us asking who you are and what it is if you don't co-operate with these rules, in most cases this wouldn't happen but some unlucky Fort St. John resident got a not so nice email because the server didn't catch it as spam.

Hey All PJXM Listeners,

Due to recent changes in the market conditions and the huge drop in the Canadian Dollar compared to the US Dollar, PJXM will be having some issue keeping its current programming packages at the higher cost ones and will be switiching to a lower package if the markets continue to see drastic drops like its been. PJXM has to pay for the airplay and the server usage on live365.com, depending on how much space we actually need to use, of course these types of payments are in US dollars which the US dollar has gained alot of ground over the Canadian Dollar.

So in order to keep PJXM free for listeners all around the world, we will need to drop the amount of shows we currently have, and if need be these changes will happen towards the end of October 2008. We will keep you posted on the outcome of our decisions later this month.

Starting Oct 1, 2008 PJXM will be launching its Country genre and the program will be played twice a day everyday. To implement this genre PJXM will be moving some of its current lineups to different times and will be ending some current programs. Effective October 1 our schedule will look something like this...

12:00-2:00am - PJXM's Midnite Mix, a mix of everything from Metal to Rock/Pop

2:00am-6:30am- PJXM's Rockin The North Mix, a mix of every single song played on PJXM

6:30am-8:00am- PJXM's Morning TieUp! A mix of songs not really heard much on PJXM, sorta like a one hit wonder program

8am-10am - PJXM's Happening 80's, A collection of the great 80's hits and the 80's Quick 5

As mentioned in yesterdays news for PJXM, PJXM has been working hard on a brand new website for the station and it can now be viewed fully at www.pjxmn.com and click on the new link.

Our site has been totally re-designed and we hope you like the new design of our homepage. We are however still working on most of the site links and contact pages, but those should be running soon. Our schedule however is still being worked on as we prepare to launch our Fall Lineup schedule, this should be done by Sept 5, 2008.

The station is up and running with no interuptions as we experienced today and we do apologize for the trouble.

PJXM Broadcasting Changes

Hey PJXM Listeners,

Our stationis going under some broadcasting changes effective Sept 4, 2008. PJXM will be playing new music, an all new metal show that would start broadcasting at 10-12pm every night with a metal countdown from 12am-1am. We are happy to announce this new countdown feature, and hope to have this fully implemented by Sept 10, 2008!! We are also currently working on anew website, which will be released sometime in November, so watch or it!!

PJXM will be unavailable throughout the day on Sept 4, 2008 to make these changes work and aquire new songs. Thanks for your patience and hope this doesnt cause to much trouble for our listeners!

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to give you all an update on how well PJXM is doing in Fort St. John, and the results are fantastic ever since we started this blog on Energeticcity, and its awesome. Since inception in June our station has accumulated over 350 hours of listening time about 275 hours has been located within Canada and about 55 hours have been recorded in BC alone.

Fallen Idols, the local Fort St. John band has also accumulated lots of ratings from listeners all around the world since PJXM has started playing them. With over 50 votes since we started playing them on Aug 6, way to go guys you are well liked around the world already.

PJXM Now Works With Opera/FireFox Browsers

PJXM is pleased to announce that a recent upgrade to Live365.com servers will now allow users to use our radio station with the popular FireFox/Opera browsers. Once you click on the play button on the Live365.com website you will be asked to pick a selection to have our station played...eg. a popup window will open up so make sure that pop ups are allowed for Live365.com and then follow the on screen instructions to play PJXM. Using the webplayer via Adobe is alot better than using Itunes or Windows Media player as it takes less system resources to run in the background.

Welcome Fort St. John To PJXM

Hey everyone...

I would like to announce a new online radio station for Fort St. John and around the world. It's called PJXM and is Fort St. John's rock/meal station online! I, Shane Chevalier created this station back in June 2008 and so far have accumulated over 250 hours of listening time in the last month alone, with the average person listening for at least one hour everyday.

So what does PJXM play? Well our schedule varies throughout the day; because PJXM has to think of a world wide audience, we cant just simply play what we want during the day. During the morning we play a mixture of 80's and todays best music and at 2pm we have whats called the Punk/Metal show. This show is either live based or part of our regular broadcasting schedule. A link will be posted for everyone to look at our broadcasting schedule near the end of this memo.

What I need from residents of Fort St. John is for someone who reads this post to give me some ideas of what else PJXM should be playing. I just built a playlist of each genre, except country, unfortunately country isnt a big hit on PJXM, so we used only a few songs but not enough to build a complete playlist. If you think country would do good on PJXM, please let me know and I will for sure look into getting more songs and a time frame throughout the day for this genre type. PJXM has a playlist of these genres...

Our local radio stations don't play punk music so I thought it was time to change that. If your interested in PJXM please read on...

Once signed up you can listen to over 10,000 online radio stations, most are not free however and do require a VIP membership, but PJXM is free with of course advertisments throughout the day.

If your a local band and is interested in having music played on PJXM, please email me a copy a hit song from your cd in a email, I will listen to it and if approved, it will be put into rotation on PJXM throughout regular broadcasting. I don't deny bands of their right to have airplay, it comes down to talent and I know Fort St. John is full of talented muscians.
