Backcountry Break & Enter

Backcountry Sports was the target of a brash robbery early Sunday morning.

At just before 4 am, suspects drove right through the front doors of the store, and continued to about half-way through the building. They then pried open some of the showcases and made off with an undisclosed amount of hand guns.

The suspects then backed the vehicle out of the store causing more damage on the way out.

Now, one resident did witness the truck leaving the scene, and was able to alert the police, who soon located the vehicle abandoned in a field near the west bypass road. But, the red and white Ford pickup had been reported stolen, and the suspects had left the scene.

At this point, the RCMP is not saying any more about the number or type of guns stolen, and is soliciting help from the public.

If you have any information about this robbery please contact the RCMP at 787-8140 or you can call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
