BC Fire Danger

– Jun.30/08
B-C’s forests minister says the province has been lucky so far but, he’s concerned about wildfires, as many people continue a four day holiday weekend.
Pat Bell says there haven’t been many wildfires lately but that could change very easily.
So far, the province has spent six million dollars on fire suppression measures this year and, the minister is questioning whether anyone has learned anything from the disastrous 2003 wildfire season.

Mr. Bell is again reminding campers that plenty of water is needed and, they must dig through coals thoroughly to make sure a campfire is out.
