For the first time in more than two months, the national average price of a liter of gasoline fell last week, after reaching a record high, of a dollar 32, point six cents.

According to the new monitor of Calgary based MJ Ervin and Associates, it dropped one and a half cents, to a dollar 31 point one.

As of mid-morning there was no change at Fort St. John filling stations, with the common posted price still set at dollar 38 point nine cents a liter.

However it should be remembered, that price also held steady, through two previous weeks of increases in the national average, totaling more than seven cents a liter.

The new 60-city cross country survey shows, that all of the significant price drops last week were in EasternCanada….led by an eleven point seven cent decline in Montreal.

The price drops are in line with those for the price of crude oil, which dipped below 125 U.S. dollars a barrel yesterday.
