Rainfall Update

Three point two millimeters of rain on the last day of the month was just enough, to put May’s rainfall total in line with the monthly average.

Unofficially we received 35 point four millimeters last month and, the May average is 35 point five.

However, that is still short of the precipitation norm of 39 point seven millimeters, which includes about 4 centimeters of snow.

For the year we’ve now received 151 millimeters of precipitation and, the local area norm for the first five months of a calendar year is only 127 point eight.

The next two months however, are the keys to whether or not we will have a dry a year, in the North Peace.

June and July are the highest precipitation months of the year in this area, with a combined average of nearly 155 millimeters.
