The City has put forward an application to improve the public transit infrastructure in Fort St. John. At Monday’s special City Council meeting, the application was approved and will now be sent off to the Public Transit Infrastructure Program.

The City hopes to know the result of the grant application within a few months.

The application is for just over $200,000 with the majority of the funding going to placing new bus shelters at strategic locations.

The locations will be determined when the bus route re-evaluation is complete. The re-evaluation will begin in the coming weeks and it is hoped new routes will be announced this fall, in time for the new school season.
