BC Amber Alert Update – Jul.09/08 Mounties in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island say charges are pending against the stepfather, of a 10-year-old Cumberland-area girl. Jason Yank was arrested yesterday in Victoria, after a motel clerk spotted a van identified in an Amber Alert broadcast issued yesterday, several hours after Shyanne (SHY’-anne) Dawn Carto disappeared. The child is now safely back with her mother and, police are praising the actions of the young motel clerk in bringing a speedy end to the alert.
