Blizzards – Challenge Cup Results

Colter Young was a double Challenge Cup winner, Sunday, as he won the morning 16 km S & S Turbines time trial and powered the winning team to victory in the afternoon 4 rider team time trial.

Riders attended from Prince George, Dawson Creek and Grande Prairie. The Blizzards won the day with 70 points to GP’s 18 and Dawson Creek’s 13.

The Blizzards continue their stranglehold on the 15 race series with 500 points to GP’s 259 and Dawson Creek’s 200.

The S & S Turbines time trial times were:

1. Colter Young 23:27, 2. Pat Ferris 24:13, 3. Bob Andrews 24:54, 4. Dave Jaeger (GP) 25:26 and 5. Roger St. Jean 26:03. Other times were: Simon Andrews 26:40, Patrick Hopkins (DC) 27:01, Sandy McDonald 27:13, Dave Kay (GP) 27:16, Rod Lewis 27:36, Sam Keats 28:52, Ken Nix 29:26, Francis Plum (GP) 29:30, Owen Giebelhaus 29:46, Kendra Young 29:52, Doug Framst (PG) 31:35, James Hopkins (DC) 33:54, Wendy Framst (PG) 34:27, Don Hopkins (DC) 35:30 and Katrina Framst (PG) 36:00.

The Blizzard B Team of Colter Young, Pat Ferris, Bob and Simon Andrews won the afternoon 40 km team time trial event with a time of 1:03:50. The GP/DC team of the ‘HopinDaves’ did a time of 1:06:26 with Patrick and James Hopkins (DC) and Dave Jaeger and Dave Kay of GP.

Blizzard A was third at 1:19:08 with Ken Nix, Francis Plum (GP) Sam Keats and Owen Giebelhaus.

The ‘Young team’ of Rob, Kelsey and Kendra did 55:22 minutes for the 16 km.

A group of Blizzards are racing the ‘Great White North’ Half Ironman Triathlon in Stony Plain. No results are available at press time. Coming up: – Thursday Baldonnel time trial at 7 pm if road paving is complete. –

Sunday is a Challenge Cup race moved to Fort St. John at 10: 00 am on the club road Championship course.
