Gasoline Price Survey

The latest national survey of gasoline prices shows they fell on average by $0.072 a litre last week. Calgary-based MJ Ervin and Associates puts the national average at $1.329. That’s $0.29 cents a litre higher than it was this time last year.

It is also now $0.125 a litre higher than the common posted price in Fort St. John, which hasn’t budged from $1.454, despite an 11% drop last week in crude oil prices.

The highest gasoline price in the survey last week was in Labrador City, at $1.576 a litre. However, even that was $0.05 less than the price in the non-survey community of Fort Nelson.

Meanwhile, oil prices fell more than $3 a barrel again yesterday and closed at just under $128 US. They’ve now dropped nearly $20 a barrel in the past six trading days.
