As we reported at the time, on the evening of the 13th of June, a young female claimed to have been assaulted while walking alone in Kin Park. She stated she had successfully fought off her attacker, and a description of the incident as well as the suspect was made public.

RCMP now say that they believe the substance of this allegation was false. Constable Jackelynn Passarell says the female was not attacked, and the incident was fabricated.
