The Links Open got underway today with the Kalmar Ventures Shootout.

The Shootout features 12 of the area’s best golfers. This year’s golfers include:
-Devon Klassen (defending shoot-out champion)
-Len Holland (owner of Links Golf course, winner of the 2008 Oilmen’s)
-Burke Lauder (C.P.G.A at Lakepoint)
-Jim Holland – Long time Links player, Canadian Long Drive Champion 2001, 5 time Remax World Long Drive Finalist
-Jadon Christianson (2007 Links Club Champion)
-Jeremy Clothier (Saskatchewan Jr. Order of Merit Winner, Sask. Amateur participant 3 times)
-Shelby Dreher (Defending Links Open Champion)
-Ritchie Hosker (Peace Country Champion 2004/2006, 3 time BC Amateur Participant)
-Toby Coyle (Peace Country Open Champion 2005, Dawson Creek Oilmen’s Champion 2005)
-Ryan Vaughn (CPGA at Lake Point)
-Warren Haugan – BC Am participant will be competing in Chilliwack for his C.P.G.A Card in August.
-Kirby Dreher – 2008 MAC Conference Champion, 2nd in BC Ladies’ Amateur, captured the final CN Women Professional Ladies’ tour event in Ottawa earning a berth into the 2008 L.P.G.A Canadian Ladies Champion

They will play 9 holes tonight to find the Champion, then the rest of the Links Open Tournament gets underway Saturday. We will have results from the entire event on Sunday.
