OGC Staff Help Find Missing Person

The RCMP and Minister Neufeld recognized 3 Oil and Gas Commission staff members for their help in locating a missing man. On June 10th, an experienced back country camper called the RCMP after being lost in the bush Southwest of Dawson Creek.

The missing person had planned on spending several days in the bush but after 12 days of camping and 2 run-ins with bears the man got lost and disoriented and had lost all of his gear. He spent 4 days in the bush with very little equipment and surviving on whatever he could find.

He was finally able to find a number on a tree in a cutline by Alces Creek.Inspector Keith Redl with the Fort St. John RCMP explains what happened next.

This morning the RCMP and Minster Neufeld recognized the contribution of OGC staff members Annette Block, Mike Burzek and Shelley Calder, and Kelly and Steve Harrison of Harrison Energy Group.
