Quesnel Pursuit Update

The Whitehorse resident charged in the Canada Day Quesnel area police chase has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing injury…failure to stop for a police officer…and possession of stolen property.

As reported earlier, the case involved the police pursuit of a speeding pickup carrying an ATV, both stolen from the Fort St. John area.

25 year old Kellin Richard Friesen has been remanded in custody to July 22nd, to appear in Quesnel Provincial Court.

The incident ended when the pick-up struck a second vehicle and, flipped over several times, clipping a power pole, before coming to rest.

There were no serious injuries reported and, a passenger in the pick-up was not charged.
