B.C. Hydro says the Site C Round One consultation report should be released at the end of next month or early in September. Round One was concluded at the end of June. Hydro has a December, 2009 target date to complete the process and report to the Provincial Government which should lead to a decision on dam construction…

That’s Hydro’s Dave Conway, who has also confirmed there will be a new project point person in Fort St. John. Kate O’Neill, the former Fort St. John and District Chamber of Commerce president, has agreed to assume the position of full-time Local Community Relations Manager.

The second and final round of Site C consultations, with public stakeholder meetings, will be held this fall, although specific dates have yet to be determined.

The controversial third Peace River Dam is being promoted by Hydro as one of many options in an Integrated Electricity Plan.
