The Dawson Creek RCMP has a suspect in custody after an alleged assault yesterday morning. Shortly after eight o’clock police received a cell phone call from a woman, who said she was being assaulted by her husband while she was driving to the Dawson Creek detachment.

She also said she had been threatened and that her husband was armed with a gun.

Police then intercepted a vehicle on Highway 2, and a suspect surrendered without incident or injury. A 7 mm rifle was also found in the vehicle and several rifle rounds were in the suspect’s possession.
