Copper Wire Stolen from Fort St. John

The Fort St. John RCMP has reported that copper wire valued at more than 6,000 dollars has been stolen from a Fort St. John business.

Last night, 300 metres of copper wire was taken from Flint Energy’s yard.

The thieves cut the chain link fence with bolt-cutters and took two spools of the wire.

The prevalence of copper theft across Canada has risen in recent years, as copper now sells for as much as 3 to 4 dollars a pound at scrapyards.
