The North Peace Museum is getting ready to celebrate the addition of two new cabins.

The Museum will hold a "Celebration of the Cabins" this Saturday when the North West Mounted Police Barracks will be on display, along with the information on the new building that will be added to the Museum site shortly, the Paddy Carrol Cabin.

Larry Evans, a member of the North Peace Historical Society, says the North West Mounted Police Barracks was located south of Lookout Point:[asset|aid=191|format=mp3player|formatter=asset_bonus|title=Larry Evans – History of NW Mounted Police Barracks_1_Pub.mp3]

The other cabin, that is to be moved to the Museum site soon is called the Paddy Carrol Cabin: [asset|aid=192|format=mp3player|formatter=asset_bonus|title=Larry Evans – history of Paddy Carol Cabin_1_Pub.mp3]

To celebrate both buildings the Museum will hold a free family event this Saturday from 1 pm to 4 pm on the Museum grounds. There will be live music and refreshments served. For more information call the Museum at 250-787-0430.
