A 14-year-old boy died while riding his dirt bike near Peace River Alberta.

The boy crashed into a trailer towed by a gravel truck just after 1pm on Thursday. Emergency medical personnel tried to resuscitate the boy en route to the Peace River Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police say the boy was travelling at a high rate of speed. They do not believe alcohol was a factor. The boys name has not been released. The driver of the gravel truck was not injured.
