The RCMP now say they cannot confirm if the plane stalled before it crashed. It is not ruled out that the plane stalled, nore can they confirm or deny a stall occurred at this time.

The RCMP will not speculate why or how the plane when down, however, the RCMP can confirm Transport Canada and the Transport Safety Board will be conducting this investigation. Full physical and forensic examination will have to be conducted to determine the exact reason why the plane went down.
