The Province of Saskatchewan has also raked in another huge exploration rights sale.

Saskatchewan as bids in this months sale of $243 million, which was the provinces second biggest auction. The hot area in the province is in the southeastern park called the Bakken, where oil is trapped in tight rock similar to natural gas in Northeastern BC.

With this sale the province is now at $848 million for the year and that is more than triple last year’s record amount.
