The value of construction in Fort St. John through August continued to run ahead of last year’s pace.

However, the year-over-year gap narrowed, from nearly 10 million dollars in July, to about 4 million in August.

There were 31 permits issued in August with a construction value of just under 5 million dollars, as compared to 47 permits for about 12 million issued in August 2007.

The eight month total of permits issued this year is 213, as compared to 229 last year.

However, city revenue this year is up slightly to about 153 thousand dollars, as compared to 130 thousand, in 2007.
