Federal and Provincial governments announced today that 14.8 million dollars in joint funding will be put towards improvements to the Alaska Highway between the 271 Road and Charlie Lake. The initiative, which is part of the "Building Canada" project, will see the highway expanded to four lanes from the 271 Road to Charlie Lake. Dave Crebo with the Ministry of Transportation says the benefits for drivers go beyond covenience.
