Many BC residents can breathe a sigh of relief when it comes to utility bills—because they’re going down.

That’s the news from the BC Utilities Commission, which has approved a revised rate application from Terasen Gas. Commission spokesman Brian Williston says consumers will see a reduction of close to 15 percent in their natural gas rates in the next three months. On an annual basis, that’s about a $213.00 savings for homeowners in the Interior while those in Metro Vancouver can expect to pocket about $247.00.

But for consumers in this area, there’s no indication if Pacific Northern Gas is prepared to follow the Terasen lead.
