There were signs, as of mid-morning today, the common posted price of gasoline in Fort St. John is about to drop again.
Petro-Canada has posted a four cent drop today, to a dollar 44 point nine cents a liter.
If most of the cities other filling stations follow suit, it will be the third decrease this week in the common price.
It will also eliminate all but three and half cents of last Friday’s 11 and half cent increase.
Recall it was attributed to anticipated weekend Gulf Cast refinery damage from Hurricane Ike, which amounted to much less than feared.
Meantime, there are signs the rebound in the price of crude oil yesterday may be short-lived.
At last word, it had gained only 28 cents a barrel today and, was still below 98 dollars U.S…and, about 50 dollars less than two months ago.
However, if Fort St. John’s aforementioned Petro-Can posted price of gasoline takes hold city wide, it will be back to it’s mid-July level the first time in nearly a week.
