A Number of Accidents on Roads in and around Fort St. John

The RCMP has informed us this morning that there have been a number of accidents on roads around the Peace Country.

At this time there are no road closures, but there have been at least 3 accidents on the Alaska Highway and 2 accidents on the 103 road. We have very little information about these accidents at this time, but it sounds like the cause has been ice on the roads. The accidents on the 103 road are near the bridge heading out to Cecil Lake.

There is currently a freezing rain warning in effect for Fort St. John and Dawson Creek with freezing rain expected to fall until around noon today when it should turn to just rain.

Freezing rain in some areas is causing problems on the highways, so the RCMP are requesting the motorists slow down today. Keep listening to 100.1 Moose FM or watch this website for updates.
