Police believe alcohol was a factor in a crash that killed a passenger on an ATV west of Peace River early Saturday morning.

The 29-year-old victim was a passenger on an ATV that rolled in a hay field near Whitelaw at about 1:30 a.m. The man was fatally injured and later pronounced dead at the Fairview Hospital.

Police say alcohol was a factor in the crash and charges are pending against the 31-year-old driver.
