As we first told you earlier this week, there could soon be a diesel shortage at card lock locations in the Peace Region.

We’ve already seen some shortages at the local UFA station on Dyed Diesel. The shortage is the result of an unanticipated demand for the fuel. News outlets in the Edmonton area are reporting that multiple cardlock stations there have already been forced to close their pumps after they ran out of fuel.

The increased level of demand for diesel only aggravates a difficult situation for Petro Canada, which is already struggling with low fuel reserves as their Edmonton refinery, which closed earlier this year, is still offline.
