Barb Polehoykie was the best estimator at the 16th annual Fall Classic Road Race held Oct. 19. Fresh from her Boston Marathon qualifying run in Victoria a week ago, Barb predicted a time of 47 minutes for the 8 km distance. Her finishing time of 46:13 put her 47 seconds faster than her prediction to capture first place.

Darren Guliov was first across the finish line in a time of 37:49 but he was 1:11 faster than his prediction so he ended up in second place. Gord "The Hammer" Harris predicted 40 minutes and finished in 41:32 for a difference of 1:32 and a third place finish. This event finishes up the local competitive season for the Sub Zero Running Club but the club will continue to meet and run at A and W on Wednesday nights at 6 pm and Saturday mornings at 9 am. Everyone is welcome to join in these runs. Call Grant at 785 5733 for more information
