Friday 3:45pm outage update

**Update** Power was restored at 6:42pm Friday Night

A Friday afternoon power outage, is still affecting more than 1200 customers East of Fort St. John.

Hydro lists affected areas as north of Johnstone Road and east of Old Fort Loop.

Bob Gammer, Community Relations Manager for BC hydro, says the outage affected an entire power circuit, including the Airport and the Baldonnel area.

Gammer said power went out at just after noon, and Hydro is now saying it won’t be back on until 6pm.

Meanwhile, Hydro is now saying 180 customers in the Taylor area are also without power. At 3:30 this afternoon, a downed wire caused the Taylor outage, with Power expected back on at 6pm.

The local forecast is for the windy conditions to continue overnight and through Saturday, so you are advised to have a stock of emergency supplies ready.
