FSJ Metis Society robbed of raffle tickets

The Fort St. John Metis Society is looking for help in solving the theft of cash and raffle tickets.

Sometime between 5 and 9 am this morning, someone kicked in the door of the society’s office on 100th St.

The perpetrator made off with around 100 dollars worth of cash, as well as a box of raffle tickets worth around 800 dollars.

Jean Peerless, an Elder’s Co-ordinator with the society, says the money and tickets were needed to help fill hampers for people in need. She says the society operates largely on its fundraising, and the loss of raffle tickets is a big blow.

If you have any information that could prove useful in this case, or you come across someone trying to sell raffle tickets for the soceity, please call their office at 250-785-1541, or call the Fort ST. John RCMP detachment at 250-787-8140.
