Icy roads in the Peace area have reduced Highway 29 to single lane traffic at the Halfway River Bridge.

Police report that an accident earlier today at the bridge has damaged the bridge deck and taken out cement barriers. Single lane alternating traffic will continue at the bridge until cement barriers can be replaced and a Bridge Inspector can arrive on scene to ensure the bridge is still structurally sound.
