Icy road conditions lead to at least six vehicle accidents in the Peace area this morning

Road conditions have improved, but this morning’s freezing rain was a factor in at least six accidents reported by RCMP over the course of the morning. The accidents included three crashes at Mile 75 within the space of an hour, as well as a number of accidents on the Cecil Lake road that left that road closed for part of the morning. Additionally, an accident earlier today at the Halfway River Bridge on Highway 29 has left that bridge as single lane alternating traffic until further notice. The RCMP is reminding drivers to slow down and go less than the posted speed limit when road conditions are poor.
