MP Jay Hill and Premier Gordon Campbell have issued statements following the death of Dawson Creek Mayor Calvin Kruk.

Hill praised Kruk’s “unwavering dedication to enriching recreation and culture in his community,” but saying Kruk would be remembered most for his strong environmental leadership in the city.

Campbell called Kruk a friend as well as a colleague, calling him an “outstanding advocate” for his city and praising his pride in the people and community of Dawson Creek.
