Grande Prairie RCMP have now confirmed the identity of a man found dead at the scene of a burning van in that city last month.

Testing has confirmed the remains are those of 29-year-old Radwan Shenkora, also known as Tommy. However, the cause and circumstances of Shenkora’s death are still unknown.

Police found Shenkora’s body on Resources Road in southeastern Grande Prairie after responding to a report of a burning vehicle. Police found a 2001 Silver Dodge Caravan engulfed in flames, and while in attendance, also discovered Shenkora’s body.
