Grande Prairie RCMP Rural Section and Beaverlodge Detachment say that at 9:00 a.m. today (Alberta Time), they received a complaint of a sour gas odor north of Hythe, Alberta, near Beaverlodge.

Police, Beaverlodge and Hythe Fire Departments as well as representatives from three oil and gas companies attended the area. Police advise that as of 11:00 a.m. there is no evidence of a leak.

RCMP attended residences near the site to advise homeowners of the investigation, but no one was evacuated. Police and Fire Departments left the area shortly after 11:00 a.m.
