The next round of multi-stakeholder meetings relating to the Site C Dam proposal begins Thursday in Fort St. John. This will be the second of two rounds of project definition consulations, with the first round taking place this past summer, and the second running from now until the end of November. BC Hydro says feedback gathered during these meetings will be used to refine elements of the project’s design, as well as other environmental and technical considerations. The meetings are Thursday from 2-4 pm, and 6:30 to 8:30 pm, at the North Peace Cultural Centre. BC Hydro’s Dave Conway says the Thursday meetings are pretty full, but there is still room at the third local meeting, on Monday October 6th, from 6:30 – 8:30, this time at the Quality Inn Northern Grande hotel. To register for that session you can email [email protected] or call 1-877-217-0777. Hydro says information obtained so far in the consultation period suggests the utility should continue to investigate the site as a possible option in adressing the province’s energy deficit.
