A taxi ride in Fort St. John will now cost a bit more.

Effective September 23rd, Fort St. John Cabs Ltd. and Teco Taxi increased their rates to $2.32 per kilometre. The new rates are a 27% increase over both company’s previous rates.

In its submission to the Passenger Transportation Board, Teco Taxi said it’s been losing money for 10 years and has had to import employees from overseas.
