What you need to Vote Today

It is voting day in Fort St. John and nationwide, as Canadians get their say on who will govern the country for the next four years or less.

Elections Canada is reminding people of new voting rules which require you to prove who you are and where you live.

Option one is to take one piece of original ID, such as a driver’s license, which has your name, photo and address on it.

Option two is to take two pieces of original ID, both of which must contain your name and one of them, your address, such as a care card and a hydro bill.

You can also swear an oath and be vouched for by a registered voter, but that person must be on the voting list in the same polling division as you, and have proper ID.

For more information, visit elections-dot-c-a.

Now, Moose FM and Energeticcity.ca will be providing live election night results beginning at 7 o’clock tonight.

Moose FM will provide updates as poll numbers come in, as well as reaction from the candidates.

On the front page of Energeticcity.ca you’ll get constant results updates for our riding, or you can visit energeticcity.ca/federalelection2008 for more detailed results from across the country.
