Canfor corp. has announced it will be curtailing production at its Taylor Pulp Mill for one week.
A press release from the company says the curtailment will begin Nov 10th (Monday) and run until Nov. 18th.
The company will perform maintainance work during the shutdown.
The company cites falling demand for lumber, as well as dropping prices in Asia over the past several weeks.
The Taylor Pulp Mill produces more than 200,000 tonnes of softwood and aspen BCTMP per year, and will drop about 5000 tonnes of that during next week’s layoff.
