EnCana says leak caused by recent bombing now stopped

EnCana Corp. says a small leak in a wellhead caused by last Friday’s explosion is now sealed.

Alan Boras of the company says crews managed to seal the leak from the well bore by about 8:30pm last night. Workers injected cement into the well to fill the leak.

The explosion site, near Tomslake, BC, was discovered by a field worker last Friday at about noon.

Boras says although the leak was very small and didn’t present a health risk, the company immediately notified nearby residents and the OGC. No evacuations were required.

The attack comes in the wake of two similar bombings of EnCana infrastructure earlier last month. The RCMP is continuing to investigate the three blasts.
