As we round the corner into flu season again, Northern Health and the Ministry of Healthy Living and Sport are reminding all those at an increased risk of falling ill to get a flu shot. Every year, approximately 1,400 people die from influenza or complications of influenza such as pneumonia. To reduce this number, Northern Health has set up several clinics across Northern BC to administer free flu shots. However, as Northern Health’s Eryn Collins explains, only certain people are eligible for the free vaccinations. They’ll also be held at the Fort St. John Health unit on November 18th from 10:30am to 6:30pm and again on December 18th from 9am to 1pm.
