The Fort St. John Huskies and Senior Flyers are both on the road on Friday night, looking for points they need in their respective races.
The Huskies currently sit in second place in the NWJHL, 2 points ahead of both Dawson Creek and Peace River.
-The Navigators are riding a 3 game winning streak, and after a win over Grande Prairie on Wednesday, have re-emerged as a title contender after a slow start to the season.
-The Jr. Canucks are heading in the opposite direction, after losing their past two games, including losses in Grande Prairie and Fort St. John.
With only one game this weekend, the pups will certainly be looking to take two points out of Sexsmith – something they failed to do on their last visit, when they coughed up a late lead, and lost in a shootout, for the Vipers’ first points of the season.
The Flyers, meanwhile, play a couple of games against teams they should have no trouble beating.
On Friday night, the Blue and White visit Fairview, for their first of four games this season against the Kings. Fairview is 4-4 so far on the season, though they do play in the much tougher NPHL West.
On Saturday, the Fort St. John is home to the Lakeland Eagles, who were a good team last year, but are looking aweful so far in 08/09, having recorded no points in 7 games, and posting a goal scoring record of 27 goals for, and 81 goals against.
Moose FM will join the Huskies on the road in Sexsmith, with the game starting at 8pm, and the pre-game show kicking-off at 7:45.
