Fort St. John’s Visitor Centre held their Annual Christmas Open House Wednesday night where they showcased what exactly the Visitor Centre can do for you plus this year’s entries into their Annual Gingerbread House Contest.

This year, they received 55 entries, blowing away any of their expectations. This was the 3rd year for the contest with only 5 being entered the first year and 22 last year.

It took the judges well over an hour and a half to judge this year’s competition. In the Adult category, First place went to Cathy Wilkinson with her design. In the Group category, Cheri Ollenberger and Rhenan White came out ahead of the gang. In the 10 year old plus category, the winner was Joel Carlson while Dylan McLain was the winner in the 9 year old under category.

You can still see all 55 of the gingerbread houses at the Visitor Centre until December 18. They are open 9am – 5pm, Monday thru Friday. They still have a great selection of City of Fort St. John merchandise and local merchandise to help fill up your Christmas Shopping this year.
