Dawson Creek has been selected as one of four communites which will play host to the Battle of tbe Border female hockey tournament.

Taking place in February 2009, the tourney will feature some of the best female hockey players around, including both Canadian and American players expecting to play for their countries at the 2010 Olympic games.

The opening game of the tourney will feature the United States Selects against Calgary’s Oval X-Treme team, on Monday Feb. 9th at the Encana Centre.

Encana will be matching all proceeds from the tourney, with local profits going to Dawson Creek Minor Hockey and the Ark Christian Youth Centre.
