Three of four men charged in connection with the death of a Dawson Creek man have been sentenced to six years and ten months in prison.

The Prince George Citizen reports Justice Eric Chamberlist, who announced the sentences on Friday, determined the three deserved ten years in Prison, but he gave Christopher Anthony Beaulieu, Darcy Paul Beaulieu, and Sheldon Bradley Ghostkeeper, three years credit for time already served.

The fourth man, Kyle Benjamin Abel, received an 8 year sentence, which will come to 5 years and 4 months after credit for time already served. Abel received a lesser sentence because he did try to revive the victim after his death, but still participated in the grim mutilation of the body.

The charges go back to a dispute over drugs at a Dawson Creek hotel room, on December 2nd of 2006. The court heard the attackers had intended on giving the victim, Thomas Willcocks, a severe beating. They took him out to their van, where the beating escalated, eventually killing him. They then disposed of the body by dismembering and burning it.
