FSJ Man Charged with Arson

A 22 year old Fort St. John man has been arrested and charged, with several criminal code offenses, including two charges of arson.

Travis Affleck was remanded in custody at a court appearance this week and, is expected to appear again by video on January 5th.

He’s also charged with possession of an incendiary device, assault and, assault with a weapon.

The police investigation began, after two molotov cocktails were thrown at a house on Airport road, shortly after 10pm on December first.

Police now believe it was targeted attack, on one of the occupants of the residence and, not a random act of violence.

They say thanks to the quick response of the Fort St. John fire department, the damage was limited to a front entry way and, a main floor window of the home.

However, one adult resident of the home and, a household pet were injured.
