GP Man Convicted of Murder

A 31 year old Grande Prairie man has been given a ten year sentence, minus 11 months for time served, for killing his former wife.

James Thomas McIntyre was sentenced yesterday, after pleading guilty to manslaughter.

Earlier court was told he and Dawn Lynn O’Donald had been together for nine years and, had three children, prior to their separation in December of last year.

He reportedly confronted her at the home of her new boyfriend, in July of last year and, admitted in court he went into a blind rage, took a knife from his vehicle and, stabbed his former spouse seven times.
